Bat Roosting Period

Disturbing bats during their roosting period is generally not permitted. This is due to how sensitive they are and the disproportionate impact that it may have on the ecosystem. This period, as well as the bat hibernation period is the time that you cannot disturb buildings that have bat roosts. Tree felling, building works, or cave disturbances require a derogation license from the National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS).
